The Garden Guardians Volunteer Program is your chance to make a meaningful impact while being part of the incredible energy of the Permaculture Picnic. By volunteering, you’ll help bring our vision of sustainability, art, and music to life—and get an exclusive, behind-the-scenes experience of the festival.
Ok but what is a Garden Guardian?!
Garden Guardians are the heartbeat of Permaculture Picnic. Whether you’re nurturing festival gardens, setting up art installations, or helping attendees discover sustainable practices, your efforts will make a real difference.
This program will be standard at all the events this year at Tico Time. If you are local and interested, please feel free to sign up for any or all of the events.
This is more than volunteering—it’s a chance to connect, grow, and leave your mark on an unforgettable event while making friends.
We will reach out to you in the spring after sign up.
Guardian Roles
As a Garden Guardian, you’ll have the opportunity to contribute in a variety of ways, including:

Garden Support: Help care for our festival gardens and permaculture displays, ensuring they thrive throughout the event.

Art Installation Assistance: Support artists in setting up and maintaining interactive and collaborative art projects.

Sustainability Ambassadors: Educate attendees on recycling, composting, and sustainable living practices.

Guest Experience: Assist with event check-in, information booths, and guiding attendees to workshops and activities.

Workshop Helpers: Provide hands-on support during our educational sessions on growing food, water catchment, and soil regeneration.
